A guided walk with artist Desiree Cross will celebrate new Augmented Reality on St Arnaud town murals. Starting at Johnnie Mural, 79 Napier St.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which Night Blooms has been created. We pay our respects to Elders, past, present and emerging and all First Nations people who are present on this Country today. 

will be set in the iconic Queen Mary Gardens and will feature ‘The Hothouse’, an illuminated pop up conservatory. The interactive nighttime digital animations will show the beauty, growth and decay of nature, seen through the eyes of St Arnaud residents and set to an original soundtrack. Throughout the gardens will be fully immersive lights, music, sculpture and videography created in collaboration with the community.

Travel the Augmented Reality Trail during the day, visiting some of the iconic spaces and murals of St Arnaud. Using your smart device, watch them come alive with overlaid artwork.

Emerging multi media artist Rogan Hando with St Arnaud oracle Dorothy Patton illuminates stories and secrets of the Queen Mary Botanic Gardens.

Stunning light design by Jack Jones of Outlook Communication will see the Queen Mary Botanic Gardens reimaged as a night display of glamour, intrigue and adventure.

Illumination

See the iconic Claret Ash tree transformed into a magical sculpture. The works have been created by St Arnaud residents in collaboration with artist Mary French and Jacinda O’Sullivan.

A stunning array of recycled bottle will light up across the gardens, designed an created by local St Arnaud creatives and school students.

Inspired by local gardeners’ stories and home-grown Spring blooms the Hothouse will stun with innovative and interactive animation by designer Desiree Cross of Pink Lake Creative. Come watch, play and explore.

Night Blooms celebrates talented local artist Sally Wright. Look for her gorgeous art work and sculpture popping up across the gardens and as digital animations. Artist Richard Bazeley, known for his woodwork, will have his sculptural work virtually inscribed onto the impressive bunya bunya tree.

The latest installation of Augment reality to emerge in St Arnaud will launch at Night Blooms 2023. A raft of highly sociable ducks will be popping into spaces all over the Queen Mary Botanical Gardens.

A guided walk with artist Desiree Cross starting at the Johnnie mural, will celebrate new Augmented Reality on St Arnaud town murals.

Woodsy – watch the sounds and colour of the footy field and hometown Saints burst into life. Made in conjunction with St Arnaud Junior Football Club

Johnnie – honouring a family that have served up take away to the people of St Arnaud for decades the mural will swim with sea creatures and the odd chip.

Existing A/R from Gatherings 2022 ‘Mates’, ‘CFA’ and the Township Mosaic in Market Square will be part of the walk.
